Mar 7, 06:45 pm: News from the mothership: TechSoup has feeds
And more than just one. Here’s the RSS goodness. You can subscribe to topic areas or to the just the new content. Of course, when combined with the creative commons license on the majority of our content that means you can also republish our headlines if you choose.
Good stuff all around.

Oct 18, 06:27 pm: Want to know what TechSoup's up to?
You can see the teams current project list and then, depending on what you think of that, join in on the conversation to let the TechSoup team know what you think.
Oct 14, 08:27 pm: MAR label in Baton Rouge
MAR stands for the Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher program and it’s a program that TechSoup Stock adminsters.
One of our staffers spent time time in Baton Rouge with the Red Cross. He saw one of the MAR stickers on a computer used for public access.
Oct 5, 04:41 am: The huh? factor
One of the advantages of releasing early is that we get feedback early. And our first batch of feedback on the NetSquared is huh?
So I changed the about page. It used to read:
Net2 is, well, we’re trying to figure that out. As Chris says, grab the hammer. As a result, these about pages are going to change and expand. Right now, we’re talking about a web-wide conversation that culminates in a blow-out, face-to-face San Francisco event in April, 2006. Find out the details below.
Now it says:
We are TechSoup, a project of CompuMentor. We’ve been helping nonprofits access direct assistance, web-based knowledge and articles, and donated technology products for the last 18 years.Net2 is, well, we’re trying to figure that out. As Chris says, grab a hammer. As a result, these about pages are going to change and expand. We’re busy setting up a platform in which we can all share needs and ideas; build our networks, community, and tools; and, act on that to create additional mission impact and, ultimately, create the change we all seek.
Right now, we have Chris Locke blogging, incoming content from you all, and a desire to know more about what you want from all this.
We’ll be hosting a conference in April, 2006 in San Francisco. Don’t think of that has the end though. Think of it as the beginning.
What do you think? Is the second draft clearer? I welcome your feedback.

Sep 29, 09:12 pm: So why have been thinking about Web 2.0, you ask.
You mean other than all the blog posts? or the various del.icio.us tags: web2, web2.0, or the Business Week Web 2.0 article? Or just my own geeky interests?
It’s Net2. And, of course, a huge part of the excitement is the folks we get to work with. People like Chris Locke of Cluetrain fame. And Alexandra Samuel, most recently working with telecentre.org.
And, of course, there are ways for you to play along.

Sep 17, 03:21 pm: Recovery Resources for Hurricane Katrina-impacted nonprofits
TechSoup.org Katrina pulls together various pieces of information to help nonprofits impacted by Hurricane Katrina.- Technology Service Proivders provides list of people and companies who are able to help organizations in the impacted areas with technology. We got this list from a variety of resources, including TechFinder. We called the people on it to make sure that they are available and able to provide assistance.
- IT Disaster Recovery – After the Fact is just what the title suggests. A guide to bringing your systems back up after you’ve been hit by a disaster. The document was pulled together from a variety of sources and we had the able assistance of three volunteers in completing it.
Both documents are going to be revised. The TechSoup page is the place to go for the latest, most up-to-date versions.
We’ve made this .pdfs and sent them to our partners in the area to encourage them to print the documents and had give them to nonprofits. I encourage anyone else who may be working with impacted organzations to make these materials available to them (including by hardcopy). And, of course, we’d love any comments, suggestions for improvement, or ideas about other materials that could assist organizations in need.
