May 30, 12:53 pm: What's your next action?

Everyone—I haven’t done a poll or anything but let’s just go with everyone. Everyone who organizes a conference describes how there’s is different. And they really are. All the conferences I’ve been to are unique in one way or another. Some of them in the way that the organizers intended. Others, I suspect, not so much in the ways that the organizers intended.

We are no expections. Here are the two things that I’ve really camped out on in terms of being not-your-ordinary conference:

  1. We are having a remote conference that isn’t just about broadcasting the conference to people who couldn’t attend. Our hope is that this gives folks an honest to god opportunity to interact with speakers and other experts. We wanted to move away from the remote opportunity to be download only.
  2. Next Actions. Okay. I admit it. I’m a index card carrying GTD geek. We’ve packed the conference bags with index cards and we’re inviting folks to share their next actions. We’ve also set up a place where folks can share their next actions online.

Our hope, in both of those things, is that we build something that will put our goals into the infrastructure of the conference.
