Oct 5, 04:41 am: The huh? factor

One of the advantages of releasing early is that we get feedback early. And our first batch of feedback on the NetSquared is huh?

So I changed the about page. It used to read:

Net2 is, well, we’re trying to figure that out. As Chris says, grab the hammer. As a result, these about pages are going to change and expand. Right now, we’re talking about a web-wide conversation that culminates in a blow-out, face-to-face San Francisco event in April, 2006. Find out the details below.

Now it says:

We are TechSoup, a project of CompuMentor. We’ve been helping nonprofits access direct assistance, web-based knowledge and articles, and donated technology products for the last 18 years.

Net2 is, well, we’re trying to figure that out.  As Chris says, grab a hammer. As a result, these about pages are going to change and expand. We’re busy setting up a platform in which we can all share needs and ideas; build our networks, community, and tools; and, act on that to create additional mission impact and, ultimately, create the change we all seek.

Right now, we have Chris Locke blogging, incoming content from you all, and a desire to know more about what you want from all this.

We’ll be hosting a conference in April, 2006 in San Francisco. Don’t think of that has the end though. Think of it as the beginning.

What do you think? Is the second draft clearer? I welcome your feedback.
