Oct 2, 03:14 pm: Some good personal news

Many of you know that my partner has been undergoing treatment for breast cancer since early this year. After 6 rounds of chemotherapy and a surgery, we’ve heard the good news: there is no evidence of cancer in her breast or lymph nodes.

This treatment plan, which involves neoadjuvant chemotherapy, sometimes results in a complete response to the chemotherapy which means, basically, when they go in to look there is, quite literally, nothing there. This is, for short-term and long-term outcomes, the best possible news.

Needless to say, last night we had a very nice bottle of champagne.

  2. That’s awesome! What good news! On a semi-related happy note, a friend of mine from Alabama just moved to SF, and has a habit of babecueing during ‘Bama games. We should all get together for one some time to celebrate…
