As a result of Madoff’s Ponzi scheme, several major charitable foundations have collapsed. Now the groups they supported, already hurting from the economic crisis, have been sent reeling as the grants they relied on evaporated overnight.
If you have something to give — money-wise — please pick an organization and help. This is what happens when investment gets shrouded and layered. People that had no idea who Bernie Madoff is end up finding their bank accounts empty.
Pick an organization or two off the list and help.
